2008-03-06 to 2008-03-10: Kamada sensei and Nampo sensei from Akita Shusuikan dojo, as well as our unique Yamazaki sensei came from Japan to Aberdeen for four days in order to teach us kendo and make us suffer. We all enjoyed remarkable moments. Thank you senseis.
2008-03-09: congratulations to Jo, Andrew, Callum, Ewan and Kyriacos for successfully passing their Shodan examn, as well as to Chris for successfully passing his Nidan exam.
2008-02-14 to 2008-03-08: Yuhei, Kohki and Yuki sempai, young kenshis from Tokyo University of Science, visited Aberdeen for one month in order to learn English and teach kendo.
2008-01-08 : First practice of the year 2008, with regained motivation and good resolutions.
2008-11: Rajmund, Tom, Kyriacos and Joe went to Japan to meet up with Yamazaki sensei (see gallery). .
2007-09-22 : Kyu Grade Taikai, Imperial College, London. Jo and Kyriakos defended the club colours, but they will do better next time with more training!!!
2007-08-16 to 2007-08-19: International Kodokan Kendo Seminar with Sumi Sensei 8-dan in Rickmansworth. From Aberdeen Kendo club, Yamazaki sensei, Etsuko Yamazaki, Hiroshi Yamazaki, Atsushi Yamazaki, Erika Seki and Jean-Michel Fustin joined the seminar. Satoshi Yamazaki from Cambridge Kendo Club came to practice as well. Congratulations to Etsuko Yamazaki who passed successfully the Nidan examn, to Atsushi Yamazaki who successfully passed the Ikkyu exam and to Erika Seki and Jean-Michel Fustin who obtained the Shodan grade.
2007-07-29 to 2007-08-14: Christopher Gray comes back to Aberdeen after one year of intensive Kendo and pancakes training with Kamada Sensei in Shusuikan dojo, Akita. Takemasa Kudo 3-dan comes to Aberdeen for two weeks and practices Kendo with us.
2007-06-09 to 2007-06-10: Aberdeen and Aberdeen University Kendo Clubs gasshuku.
2007-05-05: Thistle Cup and Japan Day in Aberdeen. A total of 51 people from Edinburgh and Edinburgh University, Taiseidokai, Aberdeen and Aberdeen University Kendo Clubs joined the competition.

2007-02-24: Yuhei Matsuda, Kengo Shimizu, Yamazaki sensei, Etsuko Yamazaki, Atsushi Yamazaki, Erika Seki and Jean-Michel Fustin joined Maggie's Centres Kendo Workshop in Edinburgh to perform 1000 Kirikaeshi in order to raise funds.

2007-02-07 to 2007-03-05: Yuhei Matsuda 2-dan and Kengo Shimizu 3-dan came from Tokyo University of Science Kendo Club to learn English at the Aberdeen University, and of course to practice Kendo at Aberdeen Kendo club and Aberdeen University Kendo club.

2006-10-14 to 2006-10-22: Aberdeen kendo Club went to japan for Kendo training. 9 people from Aberdeen accompanied by 1 person from Edinburgh, 1 person from St Andrews and 1 person from Northumbria, for a total of 12 kenshi. They visited Tokyo University of Science Kendo club where they practiced with Yamanaka and Ozawa sensei. They had the opportunity to see Noma Dojo before its re-construction. Finally, after a sightseeing trip to Nikko, they went to practice at the Akita Shusuikan dojo, together with the Akita International University Kendo club.

2006-09-02: BKA British Open taikai. From Aberdeen kendo club, David Orman, Satoshi, Hiroshi and Kazuo Yamazaki joined the Open at Kashi-no-ki Kenyukai, Ollerton.David and Satoshi competed in the adult 1st kyu-3rd dan category and in kata. Hiroshi won first prize in 16 to 18 years old junior category and Kazuo obtained third prize in adult 4th dan and above.
